Fern Gully
John Best – 2008
You haven’t seen Old Petrie Town,
unless by chance you’ve found,
Fern Gully, and The Poets there,
great food and drink; the sound
Of verse, maybe forgotten, or
just written, you’ve not heard,
Come sit awhile, shed tears or smile,
and share the spoken word.
The North Pine Bush Poets, courtesy of Donna, mine host at Fabulous Fern Gully present Bush Poetry from 9am til noon on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month.
Be you audience or participant rest assured you’ll be made welcome. So make it a date, drive up the Dayboro Road from Petrie Village to Old Petrie Town. Enjoy a tea or coffee a snack or meal while being entertained by Bush Poetry old and new.

You've heard "The Man From Snowy River"
....and the one from Ironbark.
How Mick McGee's son all a quiver -
....escaped that 'christening' lark. But folks, I'll put it to you plain
....our culture's living still
So, come on down and we'll explain
....with poetry to thrill. You'll laugh, you'll cry - your sides will shake
....We promise not to fail you
Pine Rivers local bards create -
....great poetry for Australia.
